Lt.jg Mac McWhorter then in VF-9on USS Essex. Mac now resides in San Diego, California. He was presrent when the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum opening ceremonies in July of 2004. There he met some of his Japanese counterparts, former Zero pilots.
